Notes, August 12, 2008 — Truman Boyes

Today went over to ShakeShack in Madison Square Park with my parents; somehow the other day Jenny and I stumbled upon the place which funnily enough Akira had mentioned as a place that we just had to visit. The line was long as usual but didn’t stop us from waiting it out as the day was blue without a few white fluffies before some dark thunderstorms made their way over in the late afternoon. The ’shroom burger was great.

Worked through a few RFCs today, read a few IETF drafts as well from the DHC WG and some of the IPv6 drafts. Getting through RFC 4779 right now. IPv6 deployment scenarios for broadband. It needs to happen soon, and it need to get easier. Even the Miredo (Teredo) support for IPv6 is still too complicated for the average internet user; if anything needs to be enabled on the host to get v6 working then we will need a popup that makes it really easy when some event detects that you need v6 and it is not working correctly.
