just in case you were thinking of hunting via the internet in NJ
I was reading through recent bills that were proposed or passed by NJ representatives..
Senator Henry McNamara covered off this one …

The Senate Environment Committee reports favorably and with committee amendments Senate Bill No. 574.
Senate Bill No. 574, as amended, would prohibit any person from engaging in computer-assisted remote hunting or providing or operating facilities for computer-assisted remote hunting in the State. As defined in the bill, as amended, “computer-assisted remote hunting” means the use of a computer via an Internet connection or any other device or equipment capable of establishing an Internet connection, or equipment or software capable of being used with an Internet connection to remotely access and control the aiming and discharge of a firearm, bow and arrow, or any other weapon to hunt any game bird, game animal, or fur-bearing animal in the State, and “facilities for computer-assisted remote hunting” means real property and improvements on the property associated with hunting, including hunting blinds, offices and rooms equipped to facilitate computer-assisted remote hunting via an Internet connection.
The bill, as amended, also specifies that the provisions of the bill do not apply to the use of equipment or devices, approved by the Fish and Game Council, by properly licensed hunters in the act of hunting in the field who require, because of a disability, handicap, or other physical condition, the assistance of certain equipment or devices that may or may not employ a computer or computerized parts.
The committee amended the bill to:
1) clarify that the prohibited computer-assisted remote hunting would involve an Internet connection; and
2) provide that the prohibition does not apply to the use of approved equipment or devices by properly licensed hunters in the act of hunting in the field who require the equipment or devices because of a disability, handicap, or other physical condition.
As amended, Senate Bill No. 574 is identical to Assembly Bill No. 764 (1R).
This bill was pre-filed for introduction in the 2006-2007 session pending technical review. As reported, the bill includes the changes required by technical review, which has been performed.
Now as happy as I am in the outcome of the bill, what the hell would someone be thinking if they hooked a gun or bow and arrow up to the internet … this is totally insane …
Now they didn’t mention water balloon, so I think we could still rig up a device that launches water balloons at game bird and animal and we could do this from the comfort of our web page … ;)
