A rather relaxing weekend was had here in Melbourne; staying at the Hilton on the Park near Fitzroy Gardens. There is a tram stop outside the hotel that makes getting to the CBD easy. An interesting week so far with some good meetups with friends and colleagues. There is a lot to be done here and I have stacks of things going on; hacking on some IPv6 services, getting some ideas together on technologies, etc.
I have been shooting more photos with the 450D. The weather has been temperate for the most part, and then the weekend turned to be quite windy and wet, and I wasn’t in Wellington strangely enough. Melbourne experienced a bit of sunshine on Sunday in the mid arvo. I visited the theatre at Hoyts and saw the latest James Bond, “Quantum of Solace”. It is an enjoyable blockbuster that immediately begins with action sequences, is light on dialog, but the plot has been developed a bit. There is some dry witty humor but that could have been pushed a bit more; I suppose the dry wit may work for more of the classic fans of Bond but may come off as mawkishly old fashioned to the recent fans.
