Sunday, PERL, and IPv6
An interesting post I just came across on a blog, “Perl considered harmful” states that if you are working with PERL and IPv6 applications you will need to check to see if each library is IPv6 compliant. It reminded me that there is significant use of the SSL PERL libraries in JUNOScript and NETCONF libraries which may have some issues with IPv6 support. When I get a minute or two, I will check this out and see where the support is today.
Sitting outside today on the lappie; the MBP is chugging away quite nice after the 320GB upgrade to the disk and the recent Leopard install. A strong breeze pushing into the area which appears be coming from the direction of the Watchung Mountains and blowing south-easterly.
Ordered a Car CD/Receiver, the Blaupunkt Hamburg MP57, which I will install into the car either tomorrow or when I get back from California. For the price I really could not beat the features on this unit; Bluetooth support for taking hands-free calls, CD with MP3 and WMA files (as if I would ever use WMA!), and USB support. My plan is to wire the female USB cable into the center console and put in a little harddrive. I have the 100GB 2.5″ SATA from the MBP, and I will pop that into a case and format is FAT32. I ordered the unit from Crutchfield which as I remember from years back as being of the best sites with real customer service should anything not turn up or work. Will post some pictures of the installation when I complete it.
There is a cool PHP application that checks to see if a site is IPv6 accessible: http://dev.seb7.de/ipv6/?server=www.suspicious.org
