Hacked on getting Squid3 and Squid-HEAD to have enabled ipv6 support to seamlessly bridge between IPv4 clients to the rest of the v6 world. Suspicious.org is connected to the ipv6 Internet by way a GRE tunnel to Hurricane Electric’s tunnelbroker service. My short term goal is to get squid to provide the service of fetching ipv6 pages for users.

In the meantime I have added the AAAA records for www.suspicious.org and also attempted to get the ip6.arpa records for reverse DNS correct. Although currently I think the authorative DNS servers at he.net have not pointed delegation to our nameservers.  I tested this with ‘dig +trace, which is a decent way to see verbosely the recursive lookups.

Well, squid-HEAD failed to compile on our linux box, so I either start working through the source code, but the issue appears to be with LD, so I might just hold off for a few days until I have some more time again. There is plently more that I can/should be working on.
